M.E.Mueller
I'm a professor for mathematical and theoretical foundations of computer science at the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg and an adjunct professor ("Privatdozent") at the University Augsburg.
CV
-
I studied Artificial Intelligence, Informatics, Linguisitics and Mathematics focussing on (logic) Machine Learning and graduated in 1995 from the University Osnabrück with an MA thesis on "An extension of inverse resolution to order-sorted Horn logic".
- From 1995-2002 I worked as a research assistant at the universities of Ulster at Jordanstown (NI), the University of Bremen and the Institute of Semantic Information Processing/Cognitive Science Osnabrück where I received my PhD (Dr. phil.) for my research on "Inducing conceptual user models" in the field of inductive logic programming with applications to user modelling in web search.
- From 2002-2016 I worked as assistant professor at the University Augsburg and the University of Applied Science Bonn-Rhein-Sieg focusing on mathematical/algebraic logic and theory of computer science. In 2016 I received my habilitation degree (Dr. rer.-nat. habil.) for my research on (relation) algebraic models for vague reasoning.
- Since then I am a tenured professor for mathematical and theoretical foundations of computer science at the University of Applied Sciences.
Research
Interests
My research interests are (non-classical) algebraic (modal) logic,
vagueness by residual constructions and Galois-connections,
logic knowledge discovery (aka "Machine learning") and relation algebras.
Publications
More information (CV and affiliations) and publications is available on
ORCID,
RID,
RG, and
dblp (none of these are complete, but their union might be).
There's an old web page on my habilitation work and a cognitive robotics student's project web page that I keep for sentimental reasons.
Teaching
I have to teach a lot.
If you attend any of my courses, please check the LEA system at HBRS or my file repositories. If you're interested in writing a thesis, please contact me by email (web link to mail address below).
Contact
I have an official staff web site at HBRS with contact information on it.
Avoid calling me unless appointed and better not show up unannounced at my office.
